Job Summary

The Financial Analyst is responsible for the financial planning, analysis, and projection for the organization. This position will analyze and prepare financial statements, weekly KPI’s, and Ad Hoc analysis, as well as facilitate modeling capital structure and budgeting.  The Financial Analyst will also be responsible for keeping track of the company’s financial plan – analyzing company performance, alongside changes and market trends, calculating variances between forecasts and actuals, tracking down and providing causes of variances, compiling and publishing reports regarding findings to management and stakeholders. Works closely with the accounting team to ensure accuracy of financials.

Essential Functions

  • Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking
  • Analyze financial data and create financial models
  • Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews
  • Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
  • Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization
  • Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses
  • Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of reports, tools, and Excel dashboards
  • Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
  • Analyze marketing results and effort and make recommendations based on findings
  • Maintain a strong financial analysis foundation creating forecasts and models
  • Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned by CFO

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in business finance or in a Financial Analyst role
  • High proficiency in financial modeling techniques
  • Experience working in a multi-unit business, preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience compiling and publishing reports to executive-level management
  • Advanced knowledge of:
    • Great Plains
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Business Intelligence systems; data query and data management tools
